Southern Bream Series 2015 – Round 1 Georges River Report.

We started off with a plan to fish mainly floating pontoons and boat hulls early in the session as we had a pre-fish a few weeks earlier and had found decent numbers of fish. They weren’t huge but they would be a good starter bag. The day started off a bit quieter than the previous session but we persisted and after half an hour or so started to land a few in the net. The quality of fish were still fairly small but after a while we started to pull the odd larger fish. Most fish were caught on 2.5″ Zman Grubz in Motor Oil rigged on 1/24th Hidden Weight jig heads and Squidgie Lobby’s in Wasabi also on 1/24th hidden weights. We persisted at our spot until around 11.30 and left with an average bag in the well and decided to go for a few drifts through Woolooware Bay in search of upgrades. This proved to be a good idea as we landed three 30cm+ plus upgrades on the first drift using Deep Jackall Chubbies and Daiwa Spikes. We tried a couple more spots in the bay after this and landed a couple more average fish but as the sun got up high the fish shut right down.
We had a great day fishing and were very surprised when we scraped through for our maiden win. Bring on round 2 at the Basin. See you all there.

Tight Lines…
